According to two informed sources, SpaceX held a meeting with a team of bankers on Monday evening to outline in detail their highly anticipated IPO plans. During the meeting, SpaceX stated that they plan to allocate a large portion of the shares to retail investors and will hold an event in June after the IPO roadshow launch with 1500 retail investors in attendance. The two sources mentioned that Chief Financial Officer Brett Johnson said in the online meeting, "Retail investors will be a key component of this IPO, and the scale will exceed any previous IPO." Johnson also stated that the inclusion of a significant retail allocation in this offering was intentional, as "these people have been very supportive of us and Elon Musk for a long time, and we want to express our gratitude." The sources reported that SpaceX plans to publicly release their IPO prospectus in late May, and will kick off the roadshow on the week of June 8th, during which company executives and bankers will present the IPO to investors. They also added that approximately 125 financial analysts from the 21 banks participating in the IPO plan to meet with SpaceX the day before the roadshow.
