Iranian media: Saudi large-scale petrochemical industry facilities hit on a large scale
Iran's Fars News Agency reported on April 7th, citing unnamed sources, that there was an explosion in the Jubail Industrial Zone in the northeastern part of Saudi Arabia, involving American capital. The report stated that the Jubail Industrial Zone is one of the world's important petrochemical production bases, with an annual output of about 60 million tons of petrochemical products, accounting for 6% to 8% of the global total production. The area is home to many large petrochemical companies and projects, with Saudi Basic Industries Corporation being one of the main investors in the industrial zone. Additionally, the Sadara project involving Dow Chemical Company of the United States, as well as a project jointly invested by Saudi Aramco and the French company Total, are also located in the industrial zone.
