A 5.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in central Philippines, and the Chinese Embassy issued a safety reminder.
The Philippine Volcanology and Seismology Institute reported on the 6th that a 5.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Cebu Province, central Philippines in the afternoon. There are currently no reports of casualties or property damage. The earthquake occurred around 3:22 PM that day, with the epicenter located 17 kilometers southeast of Bogo City in Cebu Province at a depth of 10 kilometers. Several areas in Cebu Province felt strong shaking. The Philippine Volcanology and Seismology Institute stated that this earthquake is a tectonic earthquake and is expected to cause damage and aftershocks. The Chinese Consulate General in Cebu issued a notice that day, reminding Chinese citizens in the Philippines to closely monitor local weather warnings and disaster information, be prepared for aftershocks and secondary disasters caused by earthquakes, stay calm during earthquakes, follow self-rescue knowledge to ensure safety, and keep communication devices open.
