On the highways, there is increased traffic pressure on the return journey in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, as well as the Yangtze River Delta region. The toll exemption for small vehicles with seven seats or less on the national highways ends at 24:00 today. Civil aviation is expected to transport 1.94 million passengers today, while waterway passenger traffic is forecasted to exceed 1.11 million. The number of people on the first day of the holiday exceeded 300 million, showing a 4.5% increase from the same period last year. In particular, the passenger volumes on railways and highways on the first day both exceeded historical highs for the same period.
