On the first day of the Qingming Festival holiday on April 4th, mass gatherings for tomb-sweeping began in various places. According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, on April 4th, a total of 66,300 funeral service institutions nationwide provided on-site tomb-sweeping services, with 377,600 staff members participating in the service guarantee. Throughout the day, a total of 19.29 million people visited the tomb-sweeping sites, and 4.57 million vehicles were received. Among them, 12.10 million people chose green and low-carbon tomb-sweeping methods, accounting for 62.73% of the total number of on-site tomb-sweepers; 857 online tomb-sweeping platforms served 266,200 people. Funeral service institutions across the country buried 13,600 urns throughout the day, with some people choosing eco-friendly burial methods such as sea burial, tree burial, flower burial, and lawn burial, indicating that the concepts of changing customs, promoting environmental protection, and green burials are gradually gaining popularity.
