On April 3rd, the Ministry of Commerce held a national TV conference call to promote the trade-in of old products for new ones. The meeting summarized the progress and effectiveness of the trade-in program in the first quarter, and deployed the next steps to focus on expanding consumption. Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Representatives from Zhejiang, Henan, Chongqing, and Shenzhen exchanged ideas on expanding consumption. Representatives from Jiangxi and Hunan explained the slow progress of subsidy fund disbursement for the trade-in program. The meeting emphasized that all regions and relevant departments should implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, continuously optimize the implementation mechanism of the trade-in policy, and effectively and orderly implement the policy. They should adhere to the concept of "efficiency in accomplishing tasks" and accelerate the efficient connection of central and local platforms, strengthen data connectivity and interaction, continuously improve subsidy review and fund disbursement efficiency, and enhance consumer participation experience. They should maintain a strict attitude, strictly guard against fraudulent claims and subsidies, and crack down on illegal activities to ensure that subsidy funds are used effectively and produce real results.
