Journalists learned on April 3 local time that three large merchant ships operated by Oman have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz recently. It is reported that this fleet consists of two very large crude carriers and one liquefied natural gas transport ship. According to relevant tracking data, these three ships have arrived at the outer sea of Muscat, Oman and have completed their port entry. Data shows that each of the two oil tankers is loaded with approximately 2 million barrels of crude oil, while the liquefied natural gas transport ship appears to be empty. It is reported that these three ships are all managed by the Oman Ship Management Company, but the company has not commented on this. It is reported that the liquefied natural gas transport ship "Sohar LNG" is the first of its kind to leave the Persian Gulf since the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict at the end of February. It is worth noting that these ships have chosen a less common route, namely the "southern route" along the coast of Oman, avoiding the northern route closer to Iranian waters.
