Marriage registration data from 16 provinces were released last year.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, there were 6.763 million couples registered for marriage nationwide in 2025, an increase of 657,000 couples compared to 2024, an increase of 10.76%. Reporters found that 16 provinces have already published marriage registration data for 2025, including Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Hubei, Hebei, Shanghai, Chongqing, Anhui, Hunan, Guizhou, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Heilongjiang.
