The legal department of Nio stated: Recently, we received information from the public security authorities that the police have successfully uncovered a case of spreading rumors using AI "plagiarism". The suspects used more than 4,000 self-media accounts to continuously publish negative and false information about the operating conditions of Nio and other companies in order to attract traffic and seek illegal benefits. The total number of clicks on the relevant content has reached 80 million. Currently, the public security authorities have taken criminal coercive measures against the suspects in accordance with the law. Nio will continue to follow up on the progress of the case and file civil lawsuits against the relevant personnel to recover the company's economic losses.
The owner of the online account "Baoli New Energy", Qiu Canhui and Wang Fang, controlled matrix accounts and mass-produced and continuously spread content defaming Nio on platforms such as Douyin, Kwai, WeChat Video Account, and Xiaohongshu, seriously infringing on Nio's reputation rights. The first-instance court has ruled that the owners of the above accounts have all committed infringement, and ordered them to compensate Nio for their losses and publicly apologize.
The owner of the online account "Stock Market Idle Thoughts", An Jianchao, repeatedly spread rumors defaming the Nio brand without verifying the accuracy of the information, with the related content being forwarded and spread over a million times, causing extremely negative social impact. The court has ruled in the first instance that An Jianchao's behavior constitutes infringement and ordered him to compensate Nio for the losses and publicly apologize.
The owner of the online account "Car Exposure Platform", Lin Guirong, has long been tarnishing the new energy vehicle industry, including Nio, by continuously publishing unverified accident-related videos on multiple platforms, causing extremely negative effects on the Nio brand. After losing in the first instance, Lin Guirong appealed, and the second-instance court has made a final judgment, ordering him to comply with the first-instance judgment, compensate Nio for the losses, and publicly apologize.
The owner of the online account "Electric Vehicle Chatter", Su Chuyuan, has been maliciously interpreting Nio's financial reports and attacking the company's operating conditions through matrix accounts on platforms such as Douyin, Watermelon Video, Toutiao, Bilibili, understanders of cars, WeChat Video Account, and Xiaohongshu since 2023. After losing in the first instance, Su Chuyuan appealed, and the second-instance court has made a final judgment, upholding the first-instance infringement determination, ordering him to comply with the first-instance judgment, compensate Nio for the losses, and publicly apologize.
