Professor Yang Jian's research team at West Lake University, together with collaborators, have developed a new method of joint assembly based on the pan-genome, successfully constructing the largest human pan-genome in the world to date. They have discovered approximately 13% of unknown sequences in the human genome, providing crucial support for genetic disease diagnosis and precision medicine. The related findings were published in the international academic journal "Nature" on April 1st.
