Recently, the Ministry of Commerce and 9 other departments jointly issued the "Action Plan for Improving Service Consumption and Benefiting the People by 2026." The "Action Plan" is guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, deeply implements the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, expands the supply of high-quality services, unleashes the potential of service consumption, and better meets the personalized, diversified, and quality service consumption needs of the people.
The "Action Plan" adheres to the close integration of benefiting the people and promoting consumption, investing in things and investing in people. It focuses on the upgrading of service consumption infrastructure, as well as addressing issues of concern to the people such as the elderly and children, providing targeted support for the development of household services, elderly care, and child care, and promoting the healthy interaction between consumption and investment, supply, and demand.
The "Action Plan" proposes 64 specific tasks and measures from six aspects: improving policy support, innovating consumption scenarios, building platform carriers, expanding opening up, strengthening standards leadership, and optimizing the consumption environment. It focuses on traditional service consumption areas such as catering and accommodation, elderly care and child care, culture, entertainment, tourism, sports, and health, as well as emerging areas such as household services, online audiovisual, inbound consumption, and performance services. It aims to synergize efforts from both the supply and demand sides to create a number of consumption new scenarios with wide coverage and high visibility.
Next, the Ministry of Commerce will work with relevant departments to solidly promote the implementation of various tasks and measures, promote the expansion of service consumption, meet the people's need for a better life, and make positive contributions to boosting consumption and building a strong domestic market.
