Seven departments: By 2029, all of the outdated petrochemical and chemical aging facilities renovation tasks determined by the end of 2025 in various regions will be fully completed.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and six other departments have issued the "Action Plan for Accelerating the Renovation and Transformation of the Petrochemical Industry's Aging Facilities." It proposes that by 2029, the renovation and transformation tasks of the aging facilities in the petrochemical industry established by 2025 in various regions will be fully completed, and the newly identified renovation and transformation tasks after 2026 will be progressed according to plan. The safety and environmental risks of aging facilities will be significantly reduced, and positive results will be achieved in pollution reduction and carbon reduction synergy. The proportion of production capacity exceeding benchmark levels will significantly increase, and the level of intelligence and green development will be greatly improved. The annual rolling evaluation and continuous improvement of the long-term work system for renovation and transformation will continue to be improved, and the leading role of standards and the synergy of policies will be further exerted.
