On April 2nd, the Shanghai municipal government held a symposium for foreign financial institutions to listen to their opinions and suggestions on accelerating the construction of an international financial center. Wu Wei, member of the municipal party committee and executive deputy mayor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Liu Jian, deputy secretary-general of the municipal government, presided over the meeting. At the symposium, representatives of foreign financial institutions shared information on the forefront of the international financial industry, new trends and concepts for foreign investment in China, as well as relevant practical cases. They highly praised Shanghai's deepening of financial industry reform and opening-up, optimization of the business environment, and maintenance of financial market stability, and provided suggestions on issues such as cross-border data, business qualifications, and cross-border finance. Wu Wei carefully listened to the opinions and suggestions, and engaged in in-depth discussions with the attending institutions on issues of their concern.
