Statistics Canada said on Thursday that Canada recorded a trade deficit of $5.74 billion Canadian dollars in February, as imports grew faster than exports. Exports increased by 6.4% during the month, driven by growth in exports of motor vehicles and parts, as well as metal and non-metallic mineral products. Meanwhile, imports increased by 8.4%, reaching a record high, fueled by higher imports of metal and non-metallic mineral products, as well as motor vehicles and parts.
