Interactive Investor analyst Richard Hunter stated in his report that, as Europe, Asia, and some markets in the Americas are approaching the Easter long weekend, investors may engage in further selling of risky assets such as stocks and corporate bonds as a precautionary measure. "Traders are unlikely to have significant exposure going into the long weekend, as they have been caught off guard by unexpected events in the past," he said. Following US President Trump's national address on Wednesday warning of a potential escalation of war in the Middle East in the next two to three weeks, market risk appetite has decreased.
