Russia announces temporary export restrictions on gasoline extended until July 31st.
On April 2, the Russian Federation government announced that the temporary export restrictions on gasoline producers in the country will be extended until July 31. This decision was made to ensure stability in the domestic fuel market during peak seasonal demand and agricultural field operations, as well as due to the increase in international oil prices caused by the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. These restrictions do not apply to supplies made in accordance with international intergovernmental agreements. On March 27, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy to draft a government resolution banning gasoline exports starting from April 1. Novak stated that the crisis in the Middle East has caused drastic fluctuations in global oil prices, and this measure aims to stabilize prices domestically and ensure priority supply of fuel to the domestic market. Subsequently, the Ministry of Energy submitted the draft resolution to the federal government to ban gasoline exports, which will be reviewed by the government according to established procedures.
