The passenger and vehicle flow of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge reached a record high in the first quarter.

Reporter learned from the Zhuhai Border Inspection General Station at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station that in the first quarter of this year, the number of passengers and vehicles entering and exiting the Zhuhai port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge reached 8 million and 1.73 million respectively, an increase of 7% and 10% compared to the same period last year, both reaching a new high since the opening of the bridge. According to the data provided by the Border Inspection Station of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, in the first quarter of this year, the number of Hong Kong and Macao single-license plate vehicles inspected at the station reached 1.03 million, an increase of 17% compared to the same period last year. In terms of personnel, in the first quarter of this year, the border inspection department inspected more than 4.5 million entries and exits of Hong Kong and Macao residents, an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year. The enthusiasm of Hong Kong and Macao residents for traveling north and mainland residents for traveling south is on the rise. The data shows that in the first quarter of this year, the number of mainland tourists with Hong Kong and Macao travel endorsements passing through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge reached 1.46 million. Since the implementation of the "Guangdong vehicles traveling south" policy, as of March 31, more than 7,500 Guangdong private vehicles have traveled to and from Hong Kong through the port. The person in charge of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station introduced that in the face of the increasing total number and active flow of passengers and vehicles at the port, the Border Inspection Station is accelerating the upgrade to "intelligent" operation at the port, continuously improving the efficiency of passage.
