Our country's agricultural meteorological observation system leads the world.
Journalists learned from the China Meteorological Administration that China has built the world's largest agricultural meteorological observation network. This network integrates the "three-dimensional integration of space, sky, and earth" monitoring mode, combines cutting-edge technology, not only provides support for the national food security strategy, but also becomes the "digital engine" for the development of smart agriculture with its exclusive technological system. Currently, various regions across the country are entering the critical period of spring plowing and sowing. In the major grain-producing province of Henan, the Henan Provincial Institute of Meteorological Sciences is using monitoring data from 48 sets of phenology observation systems to conduct inversion work on key growth indicators such as chlorophyll content, allowing for the wheat growth status to be "visible, discernible, and accurately assessed". Wu Dongli, deputy director of the Meteorological Detection Center System Office of the China Meteorological Administration, introduced: The biggest feature of this observation network is the combination of "intelligence" and "accuracy". With the support of cutting-edge technologies such as AI, lasers, and remote sensing, we have established a globally leading agricultural meteorological observation system. Currently, China is the only country in the world with a complete set of automatically observed data on crop development stages, with a core data accuracy rate of over 90%.
