Boosted by optimism over the prospect of the U.S.-Iran war ending in the near future, U.S. stocks rose overnight, leading Asian stocks to achieve their largest increase in nearly a year on Wednesday. The MSCI Asia Pacific index surged by 5.1% at one point, marking the largest single-day increase since April 10, 2025. Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade, said, "Investors are optimistic about the prospect of the conflict ending in weeks rather than months, which has led the market to enter a 'buy mode' today. However, with oil prices remaining high and news about the fate of the Strait of Hormuz being complex, the market outlook is not completely smooth sailing."
