The State Administration of Cultural Heritage organizes national state-owned museums to conduct a comprehensive inventory of their collections of cultural relics.
Reporters learned on the 1st that the State Administration of Cultural Heritage recently issued a notice and held a teleconference to deploy and promote a special action for the safe management of cultural relics in national state-owned museums, to comprehensively carry out inventory-taking and security hazard investigation and rectification work of state-owned museum collections. This special action is a key task in the field of cultural relics to lay a foundation, consolidate the roots, and benefit in the long run. Through a one-year concentrated action, national state-owned museums will organize the inventory-taking of collections one by one, verify the situation of accounts matching with actual items, promote the formation of a normalized and standardized mechanism for inventory-taking of museum collections, and simultaneously initiate the pilot work of the second national movable cultural relics census; concentrate on investigating and rectifying security hazards in the museum collection, further strengthen prevention measures, improve safety management and emergency response capabilities, and ensure the safety of museum collections.
