Sina Finance reported on March 31st that as inflation concerns ease, investors have lowered their expectations for an interest rate hike by the Bank of England in April. It was previously reported that US President Trump told his aides that he is willing to end the war with Iran, even if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. Data also confirms that the UK economy grew by only 0.1% in the last three months of 2025. Previously, Bank of England policymakers Alan Taylor, Megan Greene, and Sarah Briden hinted last week that they may be leaning towards keeping the interest rate at 3.75%. Data from the London Stock Exchange Group shows that the market expects a 57% chance of a 25 basis point interest rate hike by the Bank of England in April, down from 87% over the weekend.
