On March 31, 2026, at the Global Sodium Battery Industry Ecological Conference held by Zhongke Hainan, Li Shujun, General Manager of Zhongke Hainan, stated that it is expected that by 2028, the performance market will drive the sodium ion battery industry to reach a capacity of 100 GWh. The cost of battery cells will decrease to 0.3 yuan/Wh, and technological advancements will increase the energy density of energy-type sodium battery products to over 180 Wh/kg.
