Media: Secretary of Defense Hagel's agent wants to purchase defense stocks before the attack on Iran.
Sina Finance reported on March 31st that the Financial Times of the United Kingdom cited three sources familiar with the matter as saying that a broker of US Defense Secretary Hagel sought to heavily invest in large defense companies in the weeks leading up to the US attack on Iran. The report also stated that in February, a broker from Morgan Stanley contacted BlackRock to discuss investing millions of dollars in the defense industry active ETF of the asset management company shortly before the US launched military action against Tehran. According to the report, the investment discussed by Hagel's broker ultimately did not take place because the fund was launched in May of last year, and Morgan Stanley's clients were still unable to purchase it. The report did not specify how much discretion the broker had to invest on behalf of Hagel, nor did it mention whether Hagel was aware of what the broker was doing.
