US Secretary of State Rubio stated on Monday that the Strait of Hormuz will eventually "in some way" reopen, indicating that Washington is determined to restore passage through this critical oil transportation route as tensions escalate with Iran. Rubio said that the waterway will either reopen with Iran adhering to international law, or through cooperation with multiple countries including the US. He warned that if Tehran continues to block the passage after the conflict subsides, it will face "serious consequences".
