Samsung Electronics begins mass production of 256-layer NAND flash memory.

The first phase of process upgrade at Samsung Electronics' Xi'an factory has been completed, gradually phasing out the traditional 128-layer NAND flash and starting mass production of 236-layer products. Currently, Samsung Electronics is planning for further upgrades and is expected to complete the transition to 286-layer NAND flash later this year.
