Tokyo Electric Power Company announced that it plans to start commercial operation of Unit 6 of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant on April 16. Unit 6 of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant was restarted on January 21 of this year. This is the first restart of a nuclear power plant owned by the company since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident in 2011 caused by the "3.11" Great East Japan Earthquake. However, Unit 6 experienced multiple malfunctions before and after the restart.
