Heavy rain in multiple areas of Afghanistan causes 17 deaths.
Afghanistan's National Disaster Management Department stated on the 29th that heavy rainfall in multiple areas of the country on the 28th and 29th has caused at least 17 deaths and 26 injuries. The department's spokesperson Yusuf Hamad said on social media that according to preliminary statistics, the heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods and landslides in over 10 provinces of Afghanistan. In addition to casualties, the floods have damaged 147 houses, washed away 80 kilometers of roads, and submerged some farmlands. The warning issued by Afghanistan's meteorological department on the 28th indicates that heavy rainfall will continue in many parts of the country in the coming days, increasing the risk of flash floods.
