The Saudi oil pipeline that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz has reached its goal of transporting 7 million barrels per day.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the key East-West oil pipeline that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz is currently transporting oil at its full capacity of 7 million barrels per day. The source revealed that the current crude oil exports through the Yanbu pipeline have reached 5 million barrels per day, with Saudi Arabia exporting about 700,000 to 900,000 barrels of oil products daily. Of the 7 million barrels of crude oil transported through the pipeline, 2 million barrels are delivered to Saudi refineries. However, the Yanbu pipeline can only partially offset the supply impact caused by the closure of the Hormuz port. Before the war, around 15 million barrels of crude oil were transported through the Hormuz port daily. However, the reason why oil prices have not reached the high levels that past supply disruptions have caused crises is also due to this alternative route.
