Live cattle futures jumped as positive momentum continued.
According to FactSet data, live cattle futures settlement price rose by 1.6% to $2.3875 per pound, marking the second increase in settlement price in the past three trading days. Looking at a longer time frame, today marks the eighth time in the past 10 trading days that live cattle futures have closed higher. This upward trend comes as a labor strike at the JBS factory in Greeley, Colorado appears set to continue into its third week. Lean hog futures settlement price fell by 0.1% to 90.75 cents per pound.
