State Administration of Foreign Exchange released the international investment position of China as of the end of 2025.

At the end of 2025, China's external financial assets amounted to 11.786 trillion US dollars, external liabilities were 7.7147 trillion US dollars, and the net external assets were 4.0713 trillion US dollars. In terms of external financial assets, direct investment assets were 3.5787 trillion US dollars, securities investment assets were 1.9875 trillion US dollars, financial derivative assets were 0.261 trillion US dollars, other investment assets were 2.4494 trillion US dollars, and reserve assets were 3.7443 trillion US dollars, accounting for 30%, 17%, 0.2%, 21% and 32% of external financial assets respectively. In terms of external liabilities, direct investment liabilities were 3.9819 trillion US dollars, securities investment liabilities were 2.3507 trillion US dollars, financial derivative liabilities were 0.242 trillion US dollars, other investment liabilities were 1.358 trillion US dollars, accounting for 52%, 30%, 0.3% and 18% of external liabilities respectively. In terms of SDR valuation, at the end of 2025, China's external financial assets amounted to 86.06 trillion SDR, external liabilities were 56.332 trillion SDR, and the net external assets were 29.728 trillion SDR.
