According to reports, J.P. Morgan is preparing a new fund investing in private credit, which will allow investors to redeem 7.5% of their shares each quarter and may provide a monthly redemption mechanism. Currently, the $1.8 trillion market is facing unprecedented liquidity stress. At a time when many large private credit management firms are setting their quarterly redemption limits at 5%, locking up billions of dollars in outflow funds, the launch of this fund is significant. While interval funds are typically designed to allow for 5% to 25% quarterly redemptions, the commitment to allow a 7.5% redemption ratio is relatively rare, and the possibility of providing monthly liquidity is even rarer.
