In 2026, the first water supply from the Yellow River to replenish the Dian reservoir in Hebei will start.
Yesterday, it was learned from the Yellow River Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources that the first supply task of transferring water from the Yellow River to replenish the Baiyangdian in Hebei Province will be fully launched in 2026. With the opening of the first sluice gate of the Yellow River to Hebei Baiyangdian Water Transfer Project, water from the Yellow River flows north at a rate of 20 cubic meters per second, providing precise "thirst relief" for spring farming production along the route, while also continuously replenishing the ecological water of Baiyangdian. The Yellow River to Hebei Baiyangdian Water Transfer Project is one of the 172 major water conservancy projects for water saving and supply in the country, and it is also a key ecological passage connecting the Yellow River with Baiyangdian. The project starts from Qushou Sluice Gate in Qucun Township, Puyang County, Henan Province in the south, and extends north to Baiyangdian, with a total length of 482 kilometers of water transfer canals connecting the Yellow River and Haihe River basins.
