On the 26th local time, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati talked on the phone with United Nations Secretary-General Guterres, emphasizing Israeli Defense Minister's repeated threats to occupy the area south of the Litani River, as well as statements made by the Israeli Finance Minister about annexing the area. Mikati also described in detail the large-scale displacement of residents from towns and villages in southern Lebanon, daily encroachment on land, and the demolition and destruction of homes, indicating that civilians may not be able to return to their homes in the short term. Mikati stressed that regardless of whether Israel uses the pretext of a "security zone" or a "buffer zone," these actions and statements pose a serious threat to Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and citizens' rights, and violate international law and the United Nations Charter. Mikati informed Guterres that he had requested the Foreign Minister to immediately file a complaint with the United Nations Security Council, urging the United Nations to take responsibility for stopping these violations of human rights.
