According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to open up Siri to external AI assistants in order to turn the iPhone into an AI platform. According to sources familiar with the matter, this adjustment will be implemented as part of the revamped Siri in the upcoming iOS 27 system. Currently, Siri has integrated with ChatGPT through partnerships, and in the future Apple will allow competitors such as Google's Gemini and Claude to also integrate and use AI. This move aims to reverse Apple's lag behind its peers in the field of AI, as Siri, which has been online for nearly 15 years, is the core of its AI counterattack. Apple is developing tools to allow AI chatbot applications in the App Store to integrate with Siri and the Apple Intelligence platform, so users can directly call different AI services within Siri to complete queries. Apple plans to announce the new system and related features at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8, though there may still be adjustments or delays.
