International Olympic Committee: Only biological females will be allowed to participate in the women's events at the Olympics, and genetic testing will be required.
The International Olympic Committee announced on March 26 that the eligibility for participation in women's events at the Olympics and other international Olympic Committee events has now been limited to individuals who are physiologically female, based on a one-time SRY gene screening. This policy will be implemented starting from the Los Angeles Olympics and does not have retrospective effect. The statement mentioned that except for a very small number of athletes diagnosed with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome or other rare sexual development disorders/disorders who cannot benefit from the synthesis and/or enhanced performance of testosterone, any athlete with a positive SRY gene screening result is not eligible to participate in women's events at international Olympic Committee competitions.
