The first instance judgment of the cases involving Ko Wen-je, the Jinghua City case and the political donation case, has been announced.

On the afternoon of the 26th, the first trial of the Taipei People's Party's former chairman Ko Wen-je on the Jinghua City case and political donation case was announced. The Taipei District Court ruled that Ko Wen-je was guilty of four major charges in the Jinghua City case and political donation case, sentencing him to 17 years in prison. Ko Wen-je was accused of involvement in the scandal of the Jinghua City volume ratio during his tenure as mayor of Taipei. On August 30, 2024, the Taiwan anti-corruption unit searched Ko Wen-je's residence, office, and the central party headquarters of the People's Party in Taipei; Ko Wen-je was arrested on August 31 and detained without bail by the Taipei District Court on September 5. The Taipei District Prosecutors' Office announced on December 26, 2024 the completion of the investigation into Ko Wen-je's involvement in illegal volume rewards for the Jinghua City land and public interest misappropriation of political donations, charging Ko Wen-je and 11 others with "suspected of receiving bribes, profiteering, public interest misappropriation, and breach of trust" and seeking a total of 28 years and 6 months imprisonment for Ko Wen-je.
