Apple responds that the bug of automatically dialing phone calls in the middle of the night has been fixed.
Recently, many users have reported that their iPhones are automatically making phone calls in the middle of the night, attracting attention from many netizens. Some people even woke up in the middle of the night to hear someone speaking, which startled them. Apple has now clearly responded on their official technical support page, confirming that this bug exists. According to the explanation, if you are using a dual SIM card on an iPhone running iOS 26, when you tap on a phone number, the iPhone will display a dialog box prompting you to choose which SIM card to use. If you do not make a selection and leave the device idle for a long time, such as when charging at night, it may accidentally make calls to the phone number you previously tapped on. Apple emphasizes that this accidental phone call situation only occurs if you have previously tapped on a phone number to initiate a call request. Apple states that this behavior is caused by a software issue and has been resolved in iOS 26.3, reminding users to update their iPhones to the latest version of iOS to resolve this issue.
