American military-industrial giants are expanding production across the board in response to national defense preparedness needs.
According to reports, the Pentagon has reached a series of framework agreements with major defense contractors aimed at accelerating the production of key missile systems. These systems were heavily used in the early stages of the US and Israeli war against Iran. According to the Pentagon's announcement, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems have reached an agreement with the Department of Defense on a plan to "quadruple the production of interceptor missile guidance heads for the THAAD system." Previously, the Department of Defense had reached a framework agreement with Lockheed Martin to quadruple the production of THAAD interceptor missiles. In another separate framework agreement, Honeywell Aerospace will invest $500 million in the coming years to "significantly increase production of key components in the US ammunition stockpile," including navigation systems and other products. Additionally, Lockheed Martin and the Pentagon will also increase the production of precision strike missiles, which are alternative models to the Army's Tactical Missile System.
