Japanese media: The Shipowners Association of Japan stated that there are 45 Japanese ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, and they do not rule out the possibility of "detouring" transport of Middle Eastern oil.
According to Japan's Asahi TV, Takeshi Nagasawa, the chairman of the Japan Shipowners' Association, stated on March 25 that there are currently 45 Japanese-related ships stranded in the Hormuz Strait. He also mentioned that Japanese shipping companies are not ruling out using longer routes to transport Middle Eastern oil. Nagasawa reported that there are 1,154 people on board the Japanese ships stranded in the Hormuz Strait, including 24 Japanese nationals. The situation is unlikely to improve suddenly, and regardless of the method or form taken, there is a strong call for the Japanese government to quickly find a breakthrough to resolve the problem.
