Xiaomi's Lu Weibing: AI phones are not "PPT phones", humanoid robots can be mass-produced in Xiaomi factories in 5 years.
In the conference call after the financial report, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing focused on the smartphone AI intelligent body MiClaw launched by Xiaomi. In his view, over the past few years, he has always opposed the conceptualization of AI smartphones. Two years ago, he criticized some manufacturers for only adding related AI functions to existing phones and calling them AI smartphones, bluntly calling such products "PPT smartphones". "At the time, my exact words were, AI smartphones will definitely come, but they definitely won't look like this." Lu Weibing stated that his core definition of an AI smartphone is that the product must bring about a revolutionary change in human-machine interaction.
Regarding robots, Lu Weibing stated that Xiaomi has been laying out the track for general humanoid robots for nearly 6 years, and in 2026, a breakthrough in key technology was achieved - humanoid robots have entered Xiaomi's car factory to carry out assembly line internships, able to run autonomously for 3 hours to complete screwing operations with a success rate of over 90%. However, currently humanoid robots have only just entered the factory trial stage, and there is still a distance to go before large-scale industrial application. It is expected that 5 years later, mass deployment in Xiaomi factories will be achieved, and in the next 5-10 years, humanoid robots will enter the industrial nodes of work and life scenes on a large scale.
