Thailand's rice exports in January and February decreased by 4.16% year-on-year to 1.15 million tons.

Due to increased global supply and a relative strengthening of the Thai baht, Thailand's rice export volume decreased by 4.16% year-on-year in the first two months of this year, to 1.15 million tons. Arada Fuangtong, Minister of Commerce of Thailand, stated at a press conference on Tuesday that export revenue also decreased by 15.5% year-on-year, to 6.51 billion US dollars. During the same period, rice exports to Thailand's largest export market, Iraq, dropped sharply by 52.6%. The Thai Ministry of Commerce maintains its forecast of 7 million tons of rice exports this year.
