Brazil's Attorney General's Office: In favor of placing Bolsonaro under house arrest.

On March 23rd, local time, the Brazilian Attorney General's Office issued a statement expressing support for placing former Brazilian President Bolsonaro under house arrest. On September 11, 2025, the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court declared Bolsonaro guilty of planning a coup and sentenced him to 27 years and 3 months in prison. Bolsonaro began serving his sentence on November 25 of the same year. On March 13 of this year, Bolsonaro was taken to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Braslia due to pneumonia caused by bronchitis. His son later stated that the prison environment was not conducive to his health and requested that he be placed under house arrest.
