LG Chem's two appeals on lithium battery patents in China have been rejected. Rongbai Technology exclusively responds: this is beneficial for the subsidiary to resolve the patent dispute with LG Chem.
Recently, the Beijing Intellectual Property Court issued a first-instance judgment on two Chinese invention patents invalidation administrative disputes filed by South Korean company LG Chem, rejecting LG Chem's litigation request and upholding the State Intellectual Property Office's decision to declare both patents invalid. On March 23, Rongbai Technology confirmed to a reporter from the Shanghai Securities News that the original applicant for the two patents involved was Hanyang University, which was later transferred to LG Chem, and it was indeed the same family of patents in China as the patents involved in the patent dispute between LG Chem and Rongbai Technology's Korean subsidiary, DAE SHIN Energy Co., Ltd. The company stated that this Chinese court judgment has clarified the patent value of the related technology, which will help promote the resolution of patent disputes between the two parties in the future.
