The Yajiaowan National Laboratory has learned that a research team composed of the laboratory, the China National Rice Research Institute, and several other units has successfully developed a new type of synthetic non-hybrid reproductive hybrid rice. In standardized field trials in multiple locations, it has shown excellent genetic stability and high yield potential, with yields reaching or even exceeding those of its parent hybrid rice. This achievement provides a new path for solving the global challenge of high cost and difficulty in producing hybrid rice seeds. The related research results have been recently published in the international academic journal "Molecular Plant."
