Tesla announced that it will work with SpaceX and xAI to build the world's largest chip factory.

Tesla announced: "In collaboration with SpaceX and the artificial intelligence company xAI, we are constructing the largest chip manufacturing factory in history, integrating logic chips, storage chips, and advanced packaging technology. In order to make the most of solar energy, we need to launch 100 million tons of equipment into space each year to capture solar energy. This requires a massive deployment: the ability to launch millions of tons of material into orbit; AI satellites powered by solar energy; and millions of Tesla pillar robots involved in construction. All of these devices require chip support: the pillar robots alone require 100 to 200 gigawatts of chips, while the solar AI satellites require terawatt-level chip supply. This demand far exceeds the total capacity of all chip manufacturers globally, which will not be able to meet it even by 2030."
