Today, the official website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a transcript of an interview with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov. Lavrov stated that adopting a "hasty" approach to negotiations in the Middle East will never work. He emphasized the importance of understanding the issues in order to have productive negotiations, especially when discussing deeply rooted issues dating back decades. In the Middle East, the approach of "I propose a solution, agree quickly while you still can" will never work. Lavrov also mentioned that history tends to repeat itself in a farcical manner, but the current situation is not a farce. The actions of the United States and Israel will have extremely serious consequences. He pointed out that the international community is returning to a world without international law, the Versailles system, or the Yalta system, and is entering an era of "might makes right." He stated that the US strategy of "dominating the global energy market" has resulted in major sanctions on companies like Lukoil and Russian oil companies, implemented by the Trump administration, not as a legacy policy from the Biden era. Lavrov emphasized that the US does not seem willing to consider Russian interests and is attempting to force Russia out of all energy markets. Lavrov also highlighted that Russian diplomatic art is reflected in many theoretical documents, such as the "Concept of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation." The core principle is to defend national interests while respecting the interests of other countries willing to cooperate on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and seeking a balance between these interests. He pointed out that this is severely lacking in the West and is particularly important at present. Furthermore, Lavrov noted that Europe is attempting to consolidate its colonial rule globally, still willing to sacrifice others at the expense of issuing orders to everyone. The United States is pleased with Russia being marginalized in the European energy market, with Biden initiating these actions and Trump concluding them. This is a clear declaration of intent to establish energy hegemony in all regions globally.
