A bulk carrier entered the Persian Gulf in a trackable state.
According to the Lloyd's List on 20th, a Greek bulk carrier with its Automatic Identification System (AIS) turned on is entering the Persian Gulf through the Hormuz Strait. This is the first time since March 2nd that a ship has entered the Persian Gulf in a traceable state through the Hormuz Strait. The bulk carrier, named "Jacometti", flying the Liberian flag, belongs to a Greek bulk carrier company. AIS data shows that it is carrying "food cargo bound for Iran". The report said that on the 20th local time, the bulk carrier bypassed Larak Island, following a route similar to the "safe corridor" designated by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The report also mentioned that at least 9 other ships are using the same route, moving closer to the Iranian coast, bypassing Larak Island, where the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps visually confirms ships passing through the strait.
