Shanghai Municipal Administration of Communication has removed 10 apps that violate the rights of users.

According to the laws and regulations such as the "Personal Information Protection Law," "Cybersecurity Law," "Telecommunications Regulations," and "Regulations on the Protection of Personal Information of Telecommunications and Internet Users," Shanghai Communication Administration has launched governance on the illegal collection and use of personal information by APPs. In March 2026, Shanghai Communication Administration publicly announced a batch of APPs that have violated user rights. During the specified rectification period, after verification and reinspection, there are still 10 APPs that have not implemented rectification as required. Therefore, these APPs have been taken down. Shanghai Communication Administration will continue to monitor these APPs and take further measures according to the situation, including stopping access, administrative penalties, and inclusion in the list of telecom business operators with poor performance.
