Hunan: The year-on-year growth of the added value of large-scale industries in January-February increased by 0.3%.
According to the "Hunan Statistics" WeChat official account, from January to February 2026, the added value of the province's industrial enterprises increased by 0.3% year-on-year. The raw materials industry played a strong supporting role, with the added value of the raw materials industry increasing by 6.5%, driving the overall industrial growth by 1.3 percentage points. Specifically, the petroleum, coal and other fuel processing industry grew by 32.2%, the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry grew by 11.6%, and the non-metallic mineral products industry grew by 5.6%. The equipment manufacturing industry steadily grew, with the value added increasing by 2.8%, driving the overall industrial growth by 0.8 percentage points. In this sector, the metal products industry grew by 17.3%, the special equipment manufacturing industry grew by 11.3%, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry grew by 7.6%, and the general equipment manufacturing industry grew by 3.8%. The high-tech industry developed steadily, with the value added of high-tech manufacturing increasing by 4.0%, including a growth of 11.4% in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and 5.9% in the electronic and communication equipment manufacturing industry. The production of new products also increased rapidly, with the output of industrial robots in large-scale industrial enterprises increasing by 362.7%, the production of smartphones increasing by 67.9%, the production of optoelectronic devices increasing by 33.6%, and the production of sensors increasing by 29.5%.
