The demand for traditional technicians is increasing rapidly in AI data centers.
A survey report released by the globally renowned human resources service organization, Randstad Group of the Netherlands, on the 18th, shows that with the emergence of global artificial intelligence, or AI, data centers, there is a surge in demand for traditional skilled workers such as electricians and plumbers, and there is a severe shortage of skilled workers globally. From 2022 to 2026, the demand for robotics technicians worldwide is expected to increase by 107%. The CEO of the Randstad Group stated that the real constraint on global technological growth is not only a shortage of chips, energy, or capital, but a severe shortage of skilled workers needed to build the hardware related to the field, as artificial intelligence cannot "build" data centers on its own. Due to high demand, the wages of skilled technical workers have increased. The survey shows that over the past four years, the recruitment wages for HVAC engineers have increased by around 10% to 15%, and after skilled workers enter the data center field, salaries have generally increased by 25% to 30%.
